Hobbiton was the best last minute decision I made on my entire trip. I booked it the night before my last full day in New Zealand and I was so close to not booking it,  but then I thought if I didn’t I would have regretted it. And I would have. If you are in the area and you’re thinking of going, just do it. You don’t have to be a die hard fan (I’m not) and  you don’t need to have someone to go with (I went solo and loved it). All you need is a phone camera, a sense of wonder and at least three hours sleep.
