Update: June 2011

I have now quite unexpectedly met Kristian. It was a real pleasure, though sadly he still hasn’t had his paintings back.

I have long known the quip about there being no such thing as bad publicity, though I am not entirely sure I agree with it.

On the other hand some ‘bad’ publicity has led to something good. I learnt today via Facebook that a “Bedford based starving artist Kristian Purcell” has had some of  his work stolen whilst on display in a local Art Centre. Sadly art theft happens, and I really feel for the artist.

I’ll confess I had not heard of him prior to my friends post lamenting his losses.But his work is good. I only hope that the publicity that might come from the theft increases his profile and in the end does support the idea that there is not such thing as bad publicity.

Purcell has published some of his work here and via his blog. In my view it is certainly worth a look. I really like it.
